Alpha Gamma Rho is pleased to announce the addition of Tanner Nelson to the Home Office staff as Chapter Consultant for the Fraternity.
Brother Nelson grew up in South Central Nebraska near Bertrand on a 6th generation corn, soybean, and cattle operation. He is the second of three children born to Mark and Jodi Nelson. All three siblings attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln including his brother Jake, who is also a member of AGR.
Nelson graduated from UNL in May 2016, with a degree in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Leadership. While at UNL, he served in a wide array of organizations including Student Government, the Engler Entrepreneurship Program, the Nebraska Human Resources Institute mentoring program, and more.
After his initiation into Kappa Chapter in the fall of 2012, Nelson got involved and served as Chaplain, Crescent Editor, Song Chair, VNR Alumni Relations, and Noble Ruler. He credits Alpha Gamma Rho and his brothers for teaching him valuable leadership skills and being an unwavering community of support. “Success depends on a myriad of factors, but with an army of brothers behind you, who pick you up when you fall and celebrate when you succeed, anything is possible,” Nelson said.
Following graduation, Nelson accepted a job in Southern Missouri working for a company that sourced commodities for pet food. During his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, singing, practicing the art of storytelling, and spending time with friends. Brother Nelson is most excited about getting to know more of his Brothers personally and using his experiences to support the progress of Alpha Gamma Rho.
