23 Bertrand Seniors Will Turn‚ÄąTassels On May 13th

Twenty-three Bertrand Community School High School Graduates will take the center stage at the Bertrand School gymnasium for the school’s 120th commencement exercise on Saturday, May 13th at 3 p.m.
Coral and white were chosen for the seniors’ class colors, along with a coral tipped rose for their class flower.
Class Motto is “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away” Unknown author.
2017 graduates at Bertrand High School include: Tessa Lynn Callahan, Grant Andrew Dahlgren, Mariah Dawn Davis, Kristine Ann Edgren, Katlyn Louise Einspahr, Rachel Lindsey Erickson, Adyson M. Furlong, Ethan Lane Gdanitz, Avery Collin Goldfish, Cooper W. Grabenstein, Remey James Houghtelling, Jenna Leigh Kuck, Jared L. Kugler, Alexandria D. Lane, Brooke Taylor Peterson, Creighton D. Peterson, Courtney Jean Philips, Noah M. Renken, Tigh J. Renken, Samuel K. Siekman, Andrew Paul Stephens, Teague Alan Summers and Brandon M. Wallander.

Bertrand Nursing Home To Host Annual Spring Tea

Please join them at the Bertrand Nursing Home and Assisted Living for their Annual Spring Tea on Monday, May 15th at 2 p.m.
They will be having great entertainment and dessert.
The decorations will be something to see. Each table will be decorated with a different theme. They will also be having a Hat Contest. Come wearing your favorite or most unique hat. The person who has the most unique hat will win a prize.

14 Loomis Seniors Will Turn Tassels On May 13th

The Loomis Community School will hold commencement exercises for their high school seniors on Saturday, May 13th at 5 p.m., in the Loomis school gymnasium.
The class selected a red rose tipped in gold as their class flower. Green and black were chosen as class colors. Their class motto was a quote by George Strait, "There’s no way of knowing what tomorrow brings. Life’s too short to waste it. I say bring on anything."
Members of the 2017 graduating class at Loomis are: Cale Abramson, Katie Anderson, Levi Asp, Jared Blincow, Chase Brown, Joe Holt, Karena Kenney, Trevor Maaske, Treianne Park, Ethan Orcutt, Brooke Rademacher, Austin Rall, Mattie Thompson and Anthony Young.

Ford And Chaney Earn Top Medal Regional 4-H Public Speaking

The West Central Regional 4-H Public Speaking Contest was held on Saturday, April 27th at the West Central Research and Extension Center. 

Seventy-four youth participated with public speeches and public service announcements.
Top Medal Placings were earned by Phelps County 4-Her Johanna Ford in the Junior Division of Public Speaking and Gosper County 4-Her Rianna Chaney.
Others earning ribbons during the days' event were
Junior Division Public Speaking Phelps County 4-Her Marie Ford – Purple. Intermediate Division Public Speaking honors went to Sheridan Chaney – Purple.
Senior Division Public Speaking blue ribbon winners included Phelps County 4-Hers Sarah and Anna Pelton.
