The BerMis Junior and Senior Legion baseball teams travelled to Maywood last Sunday and both teams had good outings.
The Juniors claimed a 15-2 win and the Seniors came away with a 28-5 victory. Both games were called due the 10-run rule.
In the Juniors game, BerMis collected seven hits and was helped by nine walks, a hit batsman and 19 stolen bases.
BerMis scored six in the first, three in the second and six more in the third.
Ike Wahls was the winning pitcher (three-inning, complete game) and had two hits, four steals and scored twice. Spencer Rice stole five bases and scored twice, Brian Hemmele had four steals and scored twice and Jackson Lauby had two hits, a stolen base and scored once.
The Seniors rapped out 19 hits and scored one run in the first, 18 in the second, two in the third and seven in the fourth.
Drew Lauby had three hits, including a double, five runs batted in and two runs scored. A. J. Matejka went four-for-four with a double, two runs scored and two RBI.
Winning pitcher Chandler Wagner (four-innings, complete game) collected three hits and two stolen bases with four runs scored.
Grant Dahlgren scored four runs and had three RBI and Seth Beisner scored four times and knocked in two runs. Ike Wahls knocked in three runs and scored three times. Ashton Wasenius scored twice and had three RBI. Riley Johnson knocked in four runs, Isaac Dunn had a double and two RBI and Spencer Rice doubled, knocked in three and scored twice.
Next Sunday, both teams go to Hershey. The Seniors will play Hershey at 1 p.m. and the Juniors will face Overton at 3 p.m.
Thursday, July 6th, the seniors will host Minden at Loomis for a 7 p.m. game.
July 7th through 11th, the Juniors will play in their area tournament at Alma. Times for that tourney will be announced at a later date.
